An urgent message from Out In Jersey magazine
Personal message from Peter Frycki
The bill for same-sex marriage being championed by my own 15th district, Out of the closet State Assemblyman, Reed Gusciora, is going to be brought to the floor for a vote in the New Jersey Senate in the next week. You have read much about the bill and those anti-gay organizations and people who oppose it for months now.
I was told, in a very short conversation that my own State Senator Shirley Turner has changed her mind and may not support the same-sex marriage bill. Hmmm…. Something about politics was the reason.
Well now it is time to for ALL OF US to get actively political. This negativity towards same-sex marriage can only be challenged by a concerted effort by all of you. I know you have feelings on the matter. Many of you are ambivalent and others are hesitant for all kinds of reasons. Well its time to make a little noise and let Senator Turner and any other State Senators And Assemblypersons in your home districts know that you want them to vote for this BASIC CIVIL RIGHTS legislation. The vote is very close we hear. IT IS VERY CLOSE! Win, lose or draw we have to be heard!!!!!
If you can not to go to rallies in Trenton this Monday or later in the week you still have cell phones and computer email. Visit this website to find YOUR LEGISLATOR http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp. [Or NJLGC/PLF's lookup http://tinyurl.com/yc5ohfo]
Call on Monday, call again on Tuesday etc.. . Send an email everyday! Let the Administrative staff know that you want your Senator and Assemblyperson to vote in favor of Same-sex marriage. All State House staff is keeping a tally of the pros and cons on the issue. We all know how the other side manipulates our basic rights. It is up to you to undo their manipualtions. We can not give up! We are THIS CLOSE!
Your email and phone call and hundreds of others can make a state legislator look over his/her shoulder and rethink their position. JUST DO IT!
For more ideas and opinion and NEWS on the subject visit www.OutInJersey.net and feel free to comment on our news articles freely and post on our forums pages what YOU think.
Sincerely,
Peter Frycki

ENDA IS HEATING UP & CONGRESS NEEDS TO HEAR FROM US!!
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act is moving quickly through both houses of Congress–but our contacts on Capitol Hill tell us they are not hearing enough from equality-minded people who support the bill, and that we do not yet have the votes needed to pass ENDA.
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions is scheduled to hold its hearing on ENDA this Thursday, November 5. The House of Representatives markup on ENDA is expected to take place as early as next week–and the full House will likely vote on ENDA before Thanksgiving.
So we must act quickly — and we need your help. Contact your Representative and Senators immediately and urge them to support ENDA today and ask them to take swift action to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Our legislators must hear, loudly and clearly, that this bill is our top priority.
Click here and your voice heard! It takes 30-seconds or less!

86-year-old WWII vet on gay marriage
“What do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach?”
The woman at my polling place asked me do I believe in equality for gay and lesbian people. I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. Finally I asked her: what do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach
