NJLGC 2005 Assembly Race QuestionaireThe New Jersey Lesbian and Gay Coalition is a 501(c)4 organization and cannot endorse any candidate for political office. We can provide education about candidates---where they stand on the issues that are most important to our community. These results are released in our annual voters guide. This year is not the time for complacency. In the Governor's race there are significant differences between the candidates. Please know the candidates and most importantly, please VOTE. This year's most contested race is the race for the office of Governor. We released the results of the surveys from Jon Corzine and Doug Forrester last week. The other key race in New Jersey this year is for the office of Assembly. Many of those races are not close and in most cases the incumbent is expected to win. There are a few races, however, that are of significant importance to our community and we sent our survey to those candidates. In one district we did not receive any response. In the other two races we received some, not all, of the surveys. An asterisk notes the incumbent. While they are not included in the chart below, in the 26th district, Democrats Avery Hart and Kate McCabe have reached out to the LGBT community and attended our venues.
