This project offers help to individuals who face harassment or discrimination at school; work in education and want to be sure they are meeting their legal obligations; seek more information on gay youth and school issues; or want to help make schools safer for all students. The New Jersey affiliate of the ACLU can be reached at (973) 642-2084. The Philadelphia affiliate can be reached at (215) 592-1513. The Delaware affiliate can be reached at (302) 654-3966.
While not the main focus, Hyacinth does offer legal assistance.
This national organization is committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gays and people with HIV/AIDS through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Requests for legal assistance should be made between 10 a.m.-noon on Mondays and Wednesdays and between 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This organization runs a toll-free line for LGBT youth seeking information or assistance on legal rights and resources. The number is (800) 528-6257. It is staffed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) on Monday through Friday.
National Institute for GLBT Concerns This organization provides legal advice regarding educational equity issues. |
