This national organization is dedicated to promoting the health and well being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends. It provides:

  • support to cope with an adverse society
  • education to enlighten an ill-informed public;
  • advocacy to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights.

The local chapters provide opportunities for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and act to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. An up-to-date list of chapters in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania can be at the organization's website.

This is an organization of families headed by parents who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. It sponsors social events, publishes a monthly newsletter, advocates for families in local and national policy issues, networks with similar organizations, provides support for those considering parenthood, and organizes family-oriented activities for children.

This not-for-profit volunteer run organization exists to provide the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community with a variety of support services. Gay Helpline of NJ is a volunteer-operated service that offers a comprehensive information source, counseling and support. The helpline operates nightly from 7:30 to 10:30, and volunteers are trained to handle a variety of calls.
