Why should I get involved?

Without volunteers there is no NJLGC/PLF. The NJLGC/PLF is an entirely volunteer run organization. We have no paid staff so we rely upon people like you to keep the organization running.

What kind of people is the NJLGC/PLF looking for?

Whether you can help out occasionally, join a project, or put in a few hours each month, we’re always looking for people!

HOT ITEMS!

These are the positions we need the most urgently!

• Monthly Reach-out Volunteer: Responsible for emailing member groups once a month to stay in contact and verify “event listing” on www.njlgc.org is accurate. Make sure we know who the current contacts are.  Beg them for articles for our newsletter (you won’t have to edit the newsletter, just beg for articles).
• Domestic Partnership / Marriage Guru-in-training: We need someone to update our DP Benefits listing. This is a great “one-shot” volunteer opportunity for someone that likes to research and write.  Thousands of couples in NJ will be grateful!
• Event Calendar Volunteer: Help make sure our event calendar is up to date! We need someone to add new events as they are sent to us. Our software makes it easy, we just need someone what loves cut-and-paste.

The NJLGC/PLF has several special projects/committees in need of volunteers.

• Web team:
  • Simple data entry (listing events on the calendar)
  • Blog posters (have writing experience or just want to spread the word about news stories you’ve heard?)
  • People with WordPress CMS experience.
• AIDS Advisory Board
• Legislative efforts
• Student outreach
• Religious outreach (directory, religious group outreach)
• Corporate outreach
• Outreach to local libraries
